Everyone believes they were the cutest kid ever, but is it truly narcissistic of me to really think I was the most adorable?
I was reminiscing on my childhood, decided to dust off the old photo-albums and take a stroll down memory lane.
Also, I do not think that way of myself now (because adults are never as cute as children, unfortunately), but I mean come on…
Stop it.
I do admit though, I had a few awkward stages before five. My hair did not grow in until I was ~two years old, I mainly dressed like a Chinese boy and my mom cut my bangs by placing a piece of scotch tape horizontally across and cutting it off with scissors. You can see the unevenness in the bottom left picture, thanks mom…
Moving on, look at what I spotted while going out Friday night. Yes, it is the Creme Brûlée Cart! I know it’s going to be a good week when I get to eat creme brûlée twice in a week. I forgot that they park in the Castro late nights.
I am a traditional vanilla bean girl myself, but how can I resist a berry compote? It was as if heaven rained down, fired the torch to glaze the sugar, blew me a kiss and floated back up. As if all the evil on earth decided to take a day off and only delicious and positive energy stayed. It felt like the warmth of blowing out candles on a birthday cake with all of your favorite people surrounding you.
It was magical. I might of even went back and got another one, which would not have been too difficult because I finished it before we started the car.
I feel bad for the caprese salad pictured below because it has to compete with my ode to creme brûlée, but it also looks pretty sexy if I say so myself.
I also ate at Company on Guerrero St. over the weekend. I have been meaning to try this place because I wanted to visit a certain someone…
The decor is very…my mind draws a blank. What kind of vintage of this restaurant and logo font? Help a girl out here.
My friend Cal was our waiter! He has worked there for the longest time and I’m so thrilled to finally get a chance to experience the A++ service.
He gave us a tasting of the Crispy Confit Chicken Wings w/ red jalapeños and basil. A little too sweet for my taste but still enjoyable overall.
I was so excited when this came, the Steak Frites with parmesan-herb frites, cab reduction and chimichurri sauce. It was cooked to perfection and I almost didn’t share. The Company was offering a $25 prefix for two plates of your choice (picking between appetizer, entree and desert), so I picked a main plate and after sweets. I had to add an additional cost for the steak but I have no regrets.
Last but not least, the orange buttermilk Panna Cotta with raspberry and rose syrup.
Hate to cut this post short but Breaking Bad starts in exactly three more minutes. Wouldn’t miss it for the world!
EDIT: Just came back from watching BrBa. I don’t know how I feel.
How cute was I on a 10 scale? Also, Breaking Bad open discussion in comments (no spoilers for people who haven’t watched it yet). Feelings on this episode?
Awww adorable kiddo photos! You were too cute, uneven bangs and all. 😛
Also. Creme brulee. YES.
Too cute – uneven bangs only add to the cuteness quotient
I’d say a 9.9999999 as the 10 scale (for me) only belongs to my daughter 🙂
I haven’t watched BrBa – yet….I see I really need to up my TV intake! Love the tantalizing creme brulee picture – as for the restaurant – hmmm…definitely a “vintage” feel to it!
you are tooooo adorable – I would say 10/10 🙂 and having that creme brulee cart right there is amazing and dangerous. Breaking Bad is something I have just started watching..
That beach photo is so adorable! OMG! Breaking Bad was crazy! I can’t even! I think it was the most shocking episode yet. It was the best/worst episode I’ve seen the whole series. Just so crazyyyyy!!!!
I did not think I was a cute baby. My family disagrees, but I think my sister got all of the cute-ness in the family. And my brother got all of the cool. I’m the nerd. But you were a 10 on the cute baby girl scale. I have to be a little biased to my own Squishy-man.
I’ve never watched BrBd (you can throw things at me now). It’s even on instant Netflix, but I’m trying to wrap up my Scrubs obsession before I dive into another one. Plus, I’m worried about being disappointed, like I was with Mad Men and The Walking Dead. Not my thing, I’m afraid.
You. will. not. be. disappointed. I promise you.
Oh, those baby pictures are too cute..
OK I goto visit the place, might drop by sometime, the creme brulee sounds good.
Adorable!!! You think your bands were bad?? Try having curly bangs…not cool.
I would always tell my brother that I was the cuter child, but he recently dug up some double chin, spit up, and fat day pictures, so I’ve humbly backed out. I have really thick and curly hair, and my mom thought bangs would be a good idea. Let’s just say if you think your bangs were bad, try an afro on your forehead. Yeah. It wasn’t pretty.
Ouch, I’m sorry to hear about that. It’s hard to not be cute as a child, I’m sure you pulled it off pretty well. 🙂
You WERE a little Chinese boy, haha! I tried to cut and paste a real hum-dinger, but your bratty blog text box won’t let me. So, I’m emailing it to you now so you can split/screen and for your fans and followers.
Guys – how this little nugget made it from a perpetually peeved-looking Chinese baby boy to the person pictured above – I will never know. It’s a good thing I sprouted pre-pubescent wings and flew effortlessly over awkward-stage (ha.. that’s a lie!)
Also, since when does San Francisco have waay better food joints than Denver?!
Oh wait.. always
I was noodling around the Google and came across this a recipe for (a healthy-ish version of Creme Brulee) but the link was busted, and so now I’m tempted to recreate..
Quinoa Almond Oatmeal Brulée with a seasonal fruit medley candied almonds and a little pot of cream (um, yes please!)
Sister, I have blackmail on you. That picture you sent me is cringeworthy but I sent it to my mom for a good laugh. PS: That 80s hair she has going on is something worth laughing about.
Can you make that concoction and send it to me so I can pretend it was me all along? Thanks.
as someone who visits SF on a monthly basis its always fun to hear about places like in your blog, thanks for posting

You were very cute! I am one of those ppl that think I was the cutest little girl. lol.
I don’t watch breaking bad but my husband is obsessed so I know what happened.
Ok, kinda freaky but you look EXACTLY like my sister around that age- must be the halfie gene!
I wish we had a creme brulee truck here. Heck, I wish they served creme brulee at cafes here. Its a rare find! Although in Italy, I had the BEST creme brulee gelati. Never watched breaking bad before… worth to get into it?
Ooh, what is your sister mixed with? I love halfies!
Arman. If there is one thing you do before you die, it is watch Breaking Bad. I think half the world can agree with me.
Breaking Bad!!! Left me speechless, confused and sad. Love that show.
My exact emotions wrapped up in one sentence. I never felt so attached to a show before, it was hard for me to sleep that night.
That steak looks so perfect!! And I NEED a visit to a creme brûlée truck. Please send it to Boston 🙂
Of definitely a 10. I love bangs on babies, even the uneven ones.
orange buttermilk Panna Cotta with raspberry and rose syrup= heaven in a cup..sigh!
You were pretty damn cute! I love when little kids wear sunglasses 🙂
And you are really making me want to give creme brulee another shot to see if my tastebuds have changed… maybe I’ll like it now?!
I can see how the texture can throw you off! I don’t like some custards, but there is just something so dreamy about creme brûlée. 🙂
OMG you are SO CUTE!! i love seeing people’s baby pictures! and i usually read a couple comments, but today i skipped right over them because i havent seen this week’s breaking bad yet and i dont want spoilers, ahh i cant wait to watch!!
Did you watch it yet?! What emergency stopped you from watching it?! I always block out the living room at my house from 8:30-9:30 PM on Sundays for Breaking Bad hour. All my room mates understand and respect the rule because they know all hell will break loose.
the picture of you with your hands on your cheek is so stinking adorable!
